In this Animatic we have changed the colouring of the pictures to give them more of a thriller look. As thriller films are mostly aimed at a male audience, we choose the pictures to have a blue tint to link to male and also it is quite a serious colour and cold. Lighting is low key to make the scenes more tense, so we put the darks down and the lights up.











Here is the original picture (right) and the finished one (left) to show how much we have changed the the colours, lighting etc. to give it that thriller feel.

To get a suitable male character for our thriller film we have been on a number of websites and drama groups to post what we are looking for.

the first website we used to look for a ideal character was www.tobeseen.co.uk. This allows you to post jobs for free and choose exactly what you are looking for, because they are not a agency you will not be charged any commission and will receive e-mails from anyone interested in the part.    

From this we found 1 suitable actor for a film. 

We also used Casting Call Pro( http://www.castingcallpro.com/uk/search.php) to find actors within our distance. We used dropped down menu options to decrease the search amount, we specified for an actress within the age of 20-30 to make our film more accurate and realistic.

The production company is responsible for the raising of funds, editing and advertising of a film, this can be accomplished through a parent company, partner, or investor. 

Production companies operate in many conglomerates, as they can operate in many divisions, for example; Warner bros entertainment and lions gate entertainment.

Warner bros is a big corporate production company whilst lionsgate is independent.

Enigma Code

Enigma code- something that entices the audience, so that that they ask a question that will be answered later.

Fight club enigma code:
-Who is Tyler Durdan?
He is the alter ego of the narrator (Edward Norton), and is a nihilistic character. Nihilistic meaning that he rejects all moral principles in the belief that life is meaningless.

Matgrix enigma code:
-What is the matrix?
It is a programme where people like Neo are trapped to believe that their life is normal in the years before technology took over, they can be saved and made into a true being but before that happens, an agent can control them or they can be an agent and therefore the enemy of Neo and Morpheus.

BBFC

U:A film classified as a U is suitable for all audiences aged 4 and over (although it is impossible to predict what may upset a particular child). The film should be set within a positive moral framework.

PG:Films rated PG (parental guidance) can be viewed by anyone and should not unsettle a child aged 8 or over, it is up to the parents to decide if they feel the film is suitable for their child to view. No theme will be included that is inappropriate for a child although there could be a possibility for mild language and violence.  

12A:Is used in cinemas to classify films. No one under the age of 12 can view a 12A unless with adult supervision. Although younger viewers can go and watch these films it is suggested that the film is suitable for those around the age of 12 and above. Moderate violence, discrete and brief sexual references, and strong language (depending on the manner of which it is used) may be included in the content of a 12A film.

12: Films classified as a 12 are allowed the same content as a 12A. 12 is used to classify videos works so no one under the age of 12 can buy or rent a film classified as 12.

15:15's can be viewed by audiences of 15 years and older. No theme is prohibited  providing that it is appropriate for the viewing of those aged 15. 15's may include strong violence, frequent strong language, portrayals of sexual activity, drug taking, strong verbal references to sex, sexual nudity, brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence, discriminatory language or behavior.

18:Films classified as an 18 are to be viewed by those who are 18 and over. There is no limitation on what can be shown in an 18 film and no theme is prohibited, it is up to the adult what entertainment they would like to watch.

Typical Classification for a Thriller:

Most Thriller films are often classified as a 15. This is because 15's allow strong language, strong violence, sex references, hard drugs and is allowed to show a limited amount of blood and gore from injuries and all of these aspects are what is included in a lot of Thrillers.   
However there are exceptions where some are classified as a 12 or 18. A Thriller rated a 12 would have mild language and possible minimal use of strong language if justified, as well as minimal detail on violence and reference to sex. A film classified as an 18 can have pretty much anything included, it would be a lot more brutal and gritty than a 15.

Classification of Past Students

Inner Evil-

I would classify this film as a 12 as there is a small amount of violence shown when the girl is dragged off the street and at the beginning the girl is laying motionless on the ground with blood on her head however it is a very small amount of blood and it doesn't show any violent scenes that cause the girls trauma. The sequence isn't too explicit or inappropriate for those aged 12 and over. 

Exception- 

I would classify this film as a 15 as there is quite a lot of blood shown throughout the sequence and also there is a small bit of violence and a chase scene where someone ends up threatening to kill someone else whilst holding them in a headlock, I think because of the use of the blood and the violence that it is inappropriate for the viewing of those aged below 15. 

Alice-

I would classify this film as a 15 as I think the overall theme of the sequence could be inappropriate for younger viewers (such as people 12/13 if it was classified as a 12) and I think it may be a bit too disturbing for the younger audience. There isn't any explicit content, although there is a knife and some stabbing actions shown through a shadow and some blood I still think that the film is appropriate for viewing of people 15 and older.

A man having an unstable mind set by the death of his family (wife and daughter) in a car accident that was caused by him drinking. It begins with him making his way into multiple shops in london buying strange ingredients such as bleach, deodorant, wires etc. it then cuts to him in a dark room putting everything together, he has a blueprint of a particular building that he has marked out next to him while doing it. The music then becomes very tense and has a close up of of him pulling a mask over his face and loading the bombs into a bag and walking out.

Thriller Ideas

The opening for the thriller will start with a male character getting ready in the morning, the face is not seen until later on. The titles will come up as flashes that will last up to 5 seconds and they will be on a blank coloured background. The soundtrack will be little green bag. After he gets ready you can see the character walking out the house, his costume will be a black suit, the camera will be a tracking shot focusing on his feet and slowly tilting upwards to show the back of his head and back, the camera will stop to show the character walking away into the distance. The title of the film would then appear.

Bruce- My idea for a thriller opening would be that it would be dark and the music would be high pitched and sincere. The images shown would be of a man cleaning his gun, the shot would be a PoV and the way he is cleaning his gun is very gentle and soft. The title slates would appear over the scene. The camera shots would only focus on the hands and the gun, the face of the man is not seen u till he points the gun at the camera and looks down the site, this would be a shallow focus which would specify on the gun and change into making the mans face more clear.

Mitchel- the sequence will start in a city during the night. The music will be calm but suspicious, the shot will be a PoV of the driver who is driving around in a black car, the music will be diabetic as if it has come from the car radio.  The title slates will be the street signs and advertisements around the buildings.
